Visit number two

On Memorial Day, I paid another visit to the Aquarium, with a table set up next to the sturgeon touch tank once again. As before, I really enjoyed chatting, listening and observing as the visitors came through.

This go around saw more families and out of town visitors finishing up a long weekend in the Twin Ports. I noticed that the kids continue to be drawn in to the coloring pages on my table - a good way to get parents to stop by and fill out the survey.

One couple spent multiple minutes watching the sturgeon swim by while asking details about how old they get, when they mature, the largest ones found in Lake Superior and why they are so slimy. I love hearing these tidbits and fun facts about such a seemingly mysterious beast.

And meanwhile, a few feet away, two of the starfish were spawning in another tank, releasing smoke-like clouds from their backs. Next door the cichlids were holding babies in their mouths. I learned a lot myself that surprised me! A full day, indeed.
